Why not start the weekend in the best possible way - with a stroll along the river, the relaxation of nature and great company. We'll look at what edible plants are in season as well as some early season fruits, fungi and seeds. Throughout the afternoon gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. Discuss how sustainability is an essential part of foraging and how wild food can become a complimentary part of a meal while being sympathetic to the environment around you, and why this is such a key part of the forager's philosophy. To finish the day we will picnic, tasting a variety of foraged dishes in the environment many of them have been collected from. The walk should last ~2.5 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to enjoy some of the foods we have collected. Exact location of the walk will be confirmed via email before the event. Suitable for all ages with children welcome - individual or family tickets. Accessible via public transport and car parking available. For individual child tickets please contact me directly.
