I'm very excited to be able to launch a brand new event with Cross Borders Brewing! We have worked together for over two years to bring you seasonal beers with a wild plant twist and this is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the process. Go behind the scenes and learn about the wild plants that grow near the brewery, how to identify them and the sort of flavours that they can bring to a beer. We will discuss other uses of wild plants and the benefits of doing so - from the nutritional to the cultural and philosophical.Throughout the afternoon gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. Discuss how sustainability is an essential part of foraging, from mushrooms to plants, nuts and fruits. Look at how wild food can become a complimentary part of a meal while being sympathetic to the environment around you, and why this is such a key part of the forager's philosophy. To finish the day we will return to the brewery where we will sample a collaborative brew that has been made using wild botanicals. Not only that but the amazing Simon from Wood Oven Wonders will be cooking up a limited edition pizza with some foraged toppings! Itinerary: 2 hour foraging & plant identification walk Beer tasting Pizza (one per guest) Note: Proof of age may be required. Suitable for over 18's only.
